Mike, the seat clamp bolt on this post requires a lot of torque to fully tighten. Use a 6mm hex wrench, about 5 1/2″- 6″ long. There are thousands of these seat posts out there, and the design has been in use for years, so the design is sound, but it does take more tightening than what you might think it should to secure the clamp mechanism.

    Hi Richard

Been riding the new Lightning for a week now and it is everything that was promised, it will be my daily commuter from now on. You said that the standard cogs would be OK on even moderate hills and I must say that I prefer the 16 instead of the 18 round here. But then again Toronto isn’t famous for its mountains. Someday I hope to be in a more interesting area with it and really see if it climbs like it accelerates.

Right now – looking forward to next week working in Provo, Utah. I hear there are some good trails up there. Already found the LBSs for hiring something to ride.
